COVID-19 SHOTS AND SUNLIFE:

We can confirm that the COVID 19 vaccination is covered for retiree classes R1, R2, R5, and R6, the Legacy Cenovus and Husky Retiree plans, as all have vaccine coverage in place at 80% coinsurance. It would also be an eligible Healthcare Spending Account (HSA) expense for those retiree plans which have HSA.  The COVID-19 vaccines in Alberta would be covered at 80%, regardless of whether they are prescribed by a physician or not. However, if there is an administration cost for providing the vaccine, that would not be covered.

Discussed at the May 2024 AGM was the option of increasing yearly membership to fund more events and counter rising costs for these events. 

In November 2024, the executive voted to hold the membership fee at $10 per person for 2025, with plans to increase it for 2026 to $20 per person, per year. 

Three events will remain free for 2025:  AGM, Volunteer Lunch, Christmas Lunch.  All other events will be discounted 40% from our costs.  This means you will continue to benefit from our group rate along with our discounted rates that we will pass along. 

Membership Survey 2024

In spring 2024 the executive of Cenovus Retirement Club requested member input on options for the future of the club.  Much had changed since the club was founded:

•         Membership expanded from 50 to 500 members.

•         Larger attendance at some events.

•         Increased cost of events while revenue per member had remained static

The survey results were presented to members at the May 2024 AGM.
